Innerstellar is a full-service Pilates and yoga studio, offering group classes, private instruction, workshops, teacher trainings and special events. Our mission is to provide an outstanding educational resource for health and healing in a safe learning environment. We feature only the most potent styles of Pilates Mat and Machine, bodywork, wellness therapies and yoga, including Forrest Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha and Prenatal. We strive to strengthen and brighten the mind, body and spirit of each of our individual students, teachers and staff members.
Kristin ‘Kiki” Lovelace began her career in movement at the age of six in tap shoes and a pink tutu, and took her first yoga class at age eighteen. She considers her own daily Pilates, Forrest Yoga and Vipassana Meditation practice as her foundation for healing, growing and evolving as a human being. She has been teaching full-time since 2001, and has a particular gift for helping students work with injuries and chronic pain.
As Owner and Director of Education at Innerstellar, Kiki is a Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher, Certified Pilates Instructor and anatomy nerd. Her passion for functional alignment and the therapeutic applications of Pilates and Forrest Yoga sprouted from her 5-year apprenticeship with her mentor, master educator and healer, Pilates Instructor Tom McCook.
Kiki opened Innerstellar in 2011, and delights in the ever-emerging beauty of each of her students, staff and teachers. She has deep reverence and gratitude for her Forrest Yoga Hoop, including her dear teacher and friend Ana T. Forrest, and all of her Forrest Yoga colleagues and students. When not teaching, she is often volunteering, meditating, hiking and hanging out with her friends and loved ones in the East Bay or performing with her 1960’s go go dance troupe, The Devil-Ettes!
Becky West, Innerstellar's Experience Manager and Hatha Yoga Instructor, has been immersed in wellness and movement for the majority of her life. As a child, she underwent a spinal fusion for scoliosis which limited her movement and thus, her well-being, for many years. After years of recovering, learning to appreciate balance, and letting go of expectations, Becky discovered yoga and movement were extraordinarily healing for her!
She received a 200 hr Hatha Instructor Certification in 2007 from the Evansville Yoga Center in Southern Indiana, and a M.S.Ed. in Kinesiology in 2008 from Southern Illinois University. Before moving to the Bay area in early 2012, she spent her time teaching yoga and acting as a recycling educator in the beautiful farm country of Southern Illinois. When you don't see Becky at the front desk, she likely on an adventure to find the most inspirational picnic or yoga spot in the Bay area. She also loves frisbee, basketball, and watching a good comedy. Becky is honored to be a part of the Innerstellar community and is always happy to see each and every student!
Marisha Doan, Innerstellar Assistant Manager, Retail Goddess, and Forrest Yoga teacher has been following a windy path combining her loves of art, yoga and wellness for the last 7 years. Since moving to San Francisco in 2007 she has worked in yoga studio management, for arts non-profits, for an aromatherapy company, and for an organic farm operating farm stands at local and regional farmer’s markets and driving huge produce trucks. When not at Innerstellar she can be found practicing yoga (and becoming familiar with the healing practices of Pilates), riding her bicycle, taking long picturesque walks with her dog, cooking elaborate meals, and studying to become a health coach at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Marisha is thrilled to bring her talents to Innerstellar and to be among so many amazing kindred spirits dedicated to healing both themselves and their community.
