How to Breathe Easier During a Respiratory Pandemic

(and after a year of record-breaking wildfires and extreme stress)

“Last year when I increased my membership from 4 to 8 classes per month, I noticed a difference not only in my strength and flexibility, but also easier breathing. Overall I felt better and more ready and able to deal with the stressful situations that have been coming up constantly throughout the year. I jumped at the deal to get unlimited classes for the coming year when it was offered in December.

A few weeks later, I came down with Covid. During my illness and isolation period, I was able to log in for a class on most days. Being able to breathe and move according to what my tired and sick body was telling me I could do was a huge gift. The familiar movements and sequences were a comfort and definitely helped me heal more quickly than I would have otherwise been able to do. Most of all, the presence of the teachers and the other students helped me feel less alone.

“I am recovering well and returning to work tomorrow. I did not want to miss the chance to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the gifts of your teaching that you have given me over time, and especially now.”

-Ligia, Interstellar Student

Whether you’ve come down with Covid this past year or not, all of our lungs have been taking a beating. Wildfires, stress, grief - these all take a toll on the respiratory system.

We don’t have all the answers, but we CAN help you bring more ease into your breathing. That’s because when you combine deep breath with mindful movement, like we do in our classes at Innerstellar, you:

  • Strengthen your diaphragm, abdominals, pelvic floor, and chest... the muscles that help you make space inside for breath to come in

  • Unsquish your spine and start to embody a more spacious posture

  • Increase your lung capacity

  • Increase the oxygen levels in your blood

  • Dial down your nervous system, soothe anxiety, and release tension.

Ligia started getting the results she did when she started taking class twice a week, and while she had Covid she was taking class almost every day.

We've found that our memberships are a fabulous accountability partner for our students who want to commit to practicing regularly.

We have membership options for literally EVERY budget and level of commitment whether you want to take Pilates or yoga class once a week, twice a week or every single day of 2021.
