Injury healing as a doorway to your authentic self

We know how much it sucks to be injured.

How physical pain can zap away so much of your life force, and your desire to do the things you actually love.

How much it prevents you from doing.

How much it COSTS.

We know because most of us on the team have had our own long journeys healing our injuries.

And while we do what we can to stay healthy, avoid injuries, and tend to them when they do arise (that’s why we’re so committed to OUR yoga and Pilates practices!), we are also grateful for the way the process of healing our injuries, and everything we’ve had to learn along the way, has connected us to our authentic selves.

Sound like a stretch?

The thing is, when you’re actively working on healing an injury, your body requires you to listen more deeply to what it is telling you. Whether that’s information like “pad your knees in this pose” or “don’t do this pose” or “you need help lifting this box,” learning to interpret body-talk is a skill that you just HAVE to learn if you’re going to heal injuries through movement.

And the voice of your body is ALSO the voice of your intuition, which is ALSO the voice of your spirit.

And your body-intuition-spirit has ALL KINDS of things to tell you.

Insights on the relationship problems that have been weighing you down for months.

Guidance on the steps you need to take to realize your dreams.

Divine guidance about living out your purpose in this world.

And when you start listening to your body - and learn to interpret what you’re hearing - all this other information starts to come through.

So if you’re at the beginning of your injury-healing journey, consider holding the possibility that you could also find greater connection, authenticity, and self-intimacy through the process.

And if you’re looking for some expert guidance on your path, consider signing up for a Back in Action Pilates Assessment.

It includes a postural and movement assessment with one of our expert teachers, who will uncover what underlying weaknesses or imbalances might be causing you pain or discomfort and how Pilates can help.

It also includes deeply practical guidance about how exactly to fit a Pilates practice into your schedule, budget and life - and a recommendation for a custom weekly practice that will actually work for you.
